New SEO mother brand

We launched the name some time ago, but it was not mentioned here. For SEO and SEM and Social Media we are now using Mapto Media as our motherbrand. It is more international than our previous name Dubai First SEO (we are keeping that website) and it also signals that we are dealing with more than just SEO.

Microsoft relaunched their MSN Live Search or Live Search or whatever they used to call it to Bing.com. Also they have changed the way they work as a search engine, so you get different results now. Never the less Google, is still the market leader in search with a very large margin.

This means that the 3 biggest search engines in the world currently are:

1. Google
2. Yahoo!
3. Bing

Bing is still in beta however.

Advertising on search engines is referred to as Search Engine Marketing (SEM) while organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) refers to the work involved in getting websites to rank higher on the editorial search results also known as "the left side".

I can highly recommend Google Adsense if you have not already tried it. OK it takes a little bit of time to set it up, but not that much. Once its done you have an ongoing revenue from your website, blog etc. I know I don't have it on this blog yet, but that's not the main purpose of this blog, and sooner and later it will come.

Basically Google Adsense is the program where you can run relevant Google ads on your website. All the ads come from advertisers on Google Adwords, where Google matches these up against relevant webpages/content or shows them to people, where they know the ads are relevant based on their search history if they have enabled this.

Dubai First SEO has launched a Global Online Marketing Directory called a1974.com. It contains great links related to online adveritising. One great tool is Alexa.com, which you can use to get some user figueres on any website in the world. Basically you can get an idea of how many users a website has and where these users come from.

If you have any great links please ad them to the directory. If your own homepage is related to online advertising, then you are most welcome to ad this as well.
